About School
Shri Shiksha Sadan School was started in the year 1961. This school has provided education to many children. This school has a primary section from nursery to class 5. Presently 130 children are studying in this school. The school is BF Siding, Railway Colony, Howrah in Shalimar area of West Bengal. There are total 14 rooms in the school. The school is G+2 constructed. There is no roof on the upper part of the school. There are total 6 teachers in the school.
Problem
The school is currently going through a very bad situation. Despite there being 14 rooms in the school, the walls of all the rooms are broken and falling apart. The outer wall around the school is also breaking. This repair has not been done since the school was built, the outstanding amount of electricity bill of the school is more than Rs 1.50 lakh. Due to this they are given very less electricity. Many classrooms have old fans which do not work properly. There is no lighting arrangement in every classroom. During the rainy season, the water in the school starts running dry and there is neither drinking water nor clean bathroom.
Impact
If all these problems are solved then many children from slums and poor families will study and make some progress in their lives and move towards progress. Schools are also being supported by our organization. We have also provided arrangements for free coaching, computer education etc. in this school. Our effort is to make the school the same as before and to educate all the children back in the school and to run this school again as before.
